Situated on the northside of Lake Mendota, this home has undergone multiple additions in its lifetime. The original cottage was succumbing to poor soils. We studied the condition and recommended replacing the original cottage with a new modern wing full of windows containing a new dining room, kitchen, and living room with spectacular views of the State Capitol. We renovated the 1950’s portion of the house for a bedroom wing. Adding ample roof forms, we were able to transform the home into a fresh new structure. The exterior was enhanced with cedar toned cement siding, panels and accents, making the multiple additions truly cohesive.
